Muscles

Welcome to our meditation... Let's take a deep breath. Stretch your arms. Stretch your legs. Align your posture. Relax your body. Clear your mind. Let us focus on our bodies. Our bodies are made up of about 700 muscles. Begin at the top of your head and work your way down visiting the various muscles throughout your body. Try to be mindful of the tension in each muscle and try to release that tension as you go. It sometimes helps to lay on the floor for this exercise so you can really allow your muscles to relax. If you like, do some light stretching as you move along muscle to muscle to cleans the muscle tissues. And be sure to take deep breaths as you go. You may notice certain images or emotions coming to the surface. It is said that "muscles have memory" and in one sense this means they can learn certain movements and therefore we can count on them to walk, carry, bend, etc. But some specialists believe that actual memories from our past can be stored in the tension deep within our muscle tissue. If this exercise does bring up images or memories, do your best to acknowledge them and then release them back into the Universe to be recycled. Allow yourself to clean out these worries and stressful moments. It is time to forgive these stored hurts or resentments and be free of the blockage. We want our energy to flow freely and peacefully. Feel your muscles becoming lighter and more flexible. Once you let go of something, you make room for a positive outcome to enter into it's place. Focus on the strengths in you that have evolved. Continue to practice this exercise on occasion. It is a journey that varies for all of us. Let your renewed muscles be filled with flowing, loving, positive energy.
