Mind-Body


Welcome to our meditation... Let us take a deep breath. Stretch your arms. Stretch your legs. Relax your body. Relax your mind. Clear your thoughts. Today let us to explore the connection between our mind and body. Like an intricate tapestry, our mind and body are woven together. Our bodies respond to how we think, feel and act. The information flows through us via the many different cells and signals. When this flow is interrupted our health can become compromised. Research by Robert Ader, PhD, discovered a link between our brains, our behavior, and our immune function. He found that therapies such as meditation, support groups, visualization, qi gong, and prayer boost immunity. This study shows the powerful healing aspects of own physiology. Let's try a little mind-body meditation. Close your eyes and gently rest your head in the palms of your hands. Let all the tension release from your neck. Feel your hands absorb the weight of your head. Let all the thoughts flow from your mind and just focus on the darkness. As you rest in this place feel the peaceful connection between your mind and body. Feel them working together to bring you to a comfortable state. Now feel the strength of their combined efforts as you slowly raise your head and open your eyes. Today let us use our mind-body connection to bring harmony to our being.
