Impression

Welcome to our meditation... Take a deep breath. Do some simple stretches. Relax your body. Relax your mind. Clear your thoughts. Focus on the now. Where you are sitting. How you are breathing. What lies around you. Let us imagine this moment is being immortalized in a painting. There in the room with you is an Impressionist. The artist is painting in tiny detailed strokes and you are his subject. Think of the colors all around you and how the paint brush would swoosh, dab and blend them to create this moment of You. So much would be captured - and yet, so much is left to the imagination. Only you and the painter could tell the story of this moment. And both of your stories would be quite different with two very different perspectives. Here in the room there are many mysteries that cannot be captured by the paint brush: The smells, the sounds and thoughts. Even the exchange of words or hints of communication cannot be seen. The painter notices every inch of you as he fills in the color of your eyes and the slope of your nose - but he is unaware of what you were thinking. Let us remember that what we see is never the whole picture. Life is filled with the finer details and so much mystery. Let us not judge what we see before us but rather opt to explore and seek out the unseen in Life. The painting above is called The Pink Dress or Vista de Castelnau by Jean-Frederic Bazille ca. 1864
